Take You On (Demo)

click to play

Here is new song #16.2. We’ve played this one live a couple of times last year but have left it off our setlist in ‘06…not for any particular reason. We recorded “Take You On” in November with the brilliant Matt Mahaffey at a studio in Nashville.

This might be the last song we put out on the blog for a little while as we are still demoing the new songs. Some of you came out to the show at Mercy Lounge and heard a song called “Lions Dressed in Leather.” Next week it could be “Lions Dressed in Pleather” or “My Aunt Likes Feathers”…who knows. Until we have final versions of our new songs we don’t want to put up anymore. But we will give out other goodies such as some behind the scenes video footage and other anomalies.

Thanks…oh, and if you live in Knoxville we are playing with The Walkmen March 9.

NIIIIICE! Hearing that gave me that good old-fashioned feeling that one got from attending a junior-high dance. I really like it. It gives me a urge to do the “hippie dance”…Ha…Thanks, C-line

  7. Dave Says:

All of the different elements just come together and makes such a great track, great to just chill out to. Hope you will be coming over to the UK sometime this summer and doing the festivals. Hope it’s not too long for the next album.

  8. Matthew, County Commissioner, Hurtt Says:

So, anyone watching CBS lately? If so, you probably heard “Blow It Out” on a commercial. That’s pretty cool.

  9. Dillon Says:

i just heard blow it out on a promo for some cbs tv show.

it’s awesome to have good music on t.v., but whats with letting cbs use your music for a 30 second commercial?

  10. Dillon Says:

but then again, you gotta pay those bills.

  11. Gar Says:

Hearing Blow It Out on that Courting Alex CBS promo is a triumph. I’m certainly telling everyone I know to listen for it. Does anyone understand the odds of that happening to any of the tens of thousands of bands out there dying in the cold deserts of neglect? I think it is a brilliant and luminous moment for The Features.

  12. Erin Says:

Dig the new song. Can’t wait to see you in Nashville again. Is there a tentative release date for the next album, and is Exibit A available on vinyl?

  13. Joey Says:

What an excellent question Erin! I do know that Exhibit A is not available on vinyl. At least not yet . . .

  14. Rhonda Says:

Wow. I can’t say much more than that. Just wow. I’m so proud of you guys! Let me know when you get action figures. I want a Rollum doll in my stocking.

  15. Rhonda Says:

    Err…I meant Christmas stocking. HA!
