Update
Hello everyone. This is Rollum here with a long overdue update. First of all, thanks to everyone for sticking with us and staying interested during all of the transitions as of late. I know that there’s been some speculation as to what our current situation is, so I’ll try to clear things up as much as I can.
The biggest change is that Parrish is no longer with the group. Immediately following Universal’s decision to drop us, friction within the group that had been building for some time came to a head. Everyone tried to reconcile their differences but no resolution was ever reached. We had to part ways, but we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Our new official member/keyboardist/all around good guy is Mark Bond. I plan on doing a candid interview with him sometime in the near future so everyone can get to know him. In the meantime, you can hear his fancy skills on our new songs “Contrast” and “Wooden Heart” which are both up on our Myspace page.
We’re moving forward in every way possible and should be ready to start playing some shows by late August. We’ll do our best to keep everyone updated on our situation.

It’s about damn time. Thanks, guys… and I, too, am sorry to hear Parrish is no longer with you - however, the show MUST go on. The withdrawl I’ve been experiencing has been unbearable.
July 18th, 2006 at 8:43 pm
i had no idea that the ‘parrish situation’ was this.
i am depressed.
but i’m happy to see you guys moving on.
i’ll be looking forward to some gigs

New York shows would be appreciated……but any show at all is a good thing. Donde esta el boardo de mensaje?
July 19th, 2006 at 8:11 am
Awesome! Glad to hear from you! Sorry about Parrish.
The new songs are among your best to date. Can’t wait for a new album. Where can I buy the two new songs?
Oh yeah - Think you can fit Houston or Austin in your tour plans?!? Thanks!
July 19th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
^^ christ, if we’re taking requests, lets squeeze in a chicago date
July 19th, 2006 at 3:40 pm
And, you know, if you guys release an album this fall, I’ll be in very close proximity to David Letterman. I’m just saying…NY promotion?
And where’s the message board?
July 19th, 2006 at 6:31 pm

Oh, that’s artwork they did for the five songs they’ve recorded to send to labels… or something along those lines.

it looks like a room i made for my Sims.

For those who don’t know, Mark is the former keyboard player for De Novo Dahl, so he already has a great pedigree. He’s extremely talented and a nice guy to boot. I hate to see Parrish go, but I’m really glad they found a suitable replacement.
July 21st, 2006 at 10:46 am
i’ve only heard good things about this mark fellow. i’m quite excited to see what hes about.
July 21st, 2006 at 2:46 pm
Very sorry to hear about Parrish.
The 2 new songs are AWESOME. This is the stuff that made me love The Features from the beginning.
You rock.
July 21st, 2006 at 5:36 pm
that’s great and all, but now that everyone knows, can we please have the messageboard back? i need to read posts about people getting made fun of because they got your autographs and what sina thinks of the new beyonce jam. thanks.
July 24th, 2006 at 11:30 am
havesomesoma, you’re such a joker. I think we got all that cleared up anyway. I would like to see the message board back, as well. I do enjoy being made fun of online. Seriously though, I’m having withdrawls — so put it back up or I might just go crazy.
July 24th, 2006 at 1:49 pm
*withdrawals
July 24th, 2006 at 2:27 pm
Hey… I got drunken autographs… Even Parrish’s!!! That’ll be worth some money someday.
July 26th, 2006 at 2:16 pm

Why is the grammar police filling in for the spelling police?
August 2nd, 2006 at 11:21 am
this is torturous…..

*Why ARE the grammar police filling in for the spelling police?
August 2nd, 2006 at 12:31 pm
TWO SHOWS!!! Yay!
August 3rd, 2006 at 7:38 am
So, you know, if we had a message board, I’m sure the lyrics to “Contrast” would have been posted AND we could be discussing trashy TV (I know Miss September has stuff to say about Project: Runway). Just saying. Where are these shows?
August 3rd, 2006 at 11:04 am
^they’re posted on the myspace. i’d go to the lexington gig, but garrrrrrr the age thing. i fear i won’t see the features until i’m 21…this is sad.
August 3rd, 2006 at 6:46 pm
LEXINGTON AND CHATTANOOGA?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
what did WE do?
August 3rd, 2006 at 10:27 pm
totally agree lalala… There are plenty of places in the boro (well, a few) and definitely plenty of support. Although when I suggested The Features to mtsu’s concert comittee, they said they got a bad deal last year- whatever that means.
Anyway, while I’m honestly just happy they’re doing shows, I too feel like we’re being punished. Perhaps they’re just polishing up for us…
August 6th, 2006 at 2:06 pm
You guys will be up and running again and just as strong. Everyone is requesting places so heres one for the English fans, we want you to do some shows over here again. Why dont you do a tour of the universities and please dont miss Hull out. The gig we saw you at when playing with the Kings of Leon you were near enough on the same par as you guys. x
August 7th, 2006 at 4:56 pm
thanks for the update FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its always sad to see a member go, kinda like losing a pet. but the features, perhaps the greatest band in the world, are rumored to be making a full recovery. and us wee folk in fanland? we are just squirming with anticipation for the release of a new album(oh my i think i wet myself!) SO, will the virtuosos known as the features survive? im not sure, but with a drummer who loves blur, legos, and funky haircuts they must be doing something right, or perhaps left??!!?
August 7th, 2006 at 6:04 pm
hey feature folks, believe it or not…. not all your fans are computer junkies! in fact some of us dont even participate in the pathetic fad known as my space!!! please dont make me get a stupid my space account just to see your tour dates and hear new tunes!!!! i moved to tn. and would love to see you live again. think you could post those on the blog or website? puh-lease!!!!!! i dont know at least think about it…
if this message pisses anyone off, it is most likely you spend over 10 hours a day on your computer and though you have 100’s of “my space friends” dont have any in real life. fyi- youre the exact type of loser im talking about!! but please dont take it personal im just old fashioned and believe in REAL LIVE social interaction. if your still sore about it my name is sarah(aka wurmburger), use your amazing cyber-skills to look me up and kick my ass! or post a lame smartass reply, and if im bored enough to use a computer again in the next couple months i might actually see it!
August 8th, 2006 at 1:30 pm
Could you guys do a private party in Billings, Montanna? We don’t have any money, but you can help yourselves to unlimited (well, practically) chips & salsa.
August 8th, 2006 at 1:32 pm
Oops, I meant “Montana.” Sorry The Grammar Police.
August 8th, 2006 at 3:04 pm
oooh, what kind of salsa?!
August 8th, 2006 at 8:46 pm
more shows with kings of leon?? is this true???
August 9th, 2006 at 6:10 pm
Hey Sarah,
You don’t need a myspace account to view the features page…at least i don’t anyways. Welcome to the blog.
August 13th, 2006 at 6:11 pm
HEYOOOOOOO CLAYOOOOOOOOOO! THANKS FOR THE TIP, ILL TRY AGAIN. WAY TO STAY TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL! THANKS,SARAH
P.S. A FEATURES SHOW IN MEMPHIS WOULD BE SUPER!!!!!!!!!!
August 13th, 2006 at 10:00 pm
I guess if the Features want to get robbed and murdered, they’ll play in Memphrica — I mean, Memphis.
August 14th, 2006 at 9:35 am
Was that racist?

matthew squirt, i mean hurtt…for the record, civilized people do live in memphis. ive been here for a year(not by choice, moved to work on an indie film) and have yet to get robbed or murdered, and im just a farm girl from iowa! i guess if you dont act like a fool you wont get treated like one!(you should give it a shot) memphis…home of the blues, birthplace of rock and roll. why the hell would any band want to visit here?!!!!!!
August 14th, 2006 at 2:43 pm
Hey Matthew Hurtt, racist jokes are HILARIOUS! I usually only hear redneck jackasses calling Memphis that.
August 15th, 2006 at 1:34 pm
i’m sorry, guy who drank from the features’ water, but did you say “memphrica”? surely you didn’t. i MUST be mistaken. can you please explain your way out of this one, mr. politician?
August 15th, 2006 at 2:02 pm
Farm girl, huh. Ok, well, Memphis it is! Or something.
August 15th, 2006 at 2:50 pm
Matthew, calling it Memphrica is pretty damn racist. Of course, I wouldn’t expect any less from a staunch Republican.
I’ll be at the Mercy Lounge show. I’m looking forward to my first Features show in many, many months.
August 16th, 2006 at 7:26 am
I can not believe he said that. Did he get elected?
August 16th, 2006 at 11:51 am
Thankfully, no.
August 16th, 2006 at 1:36 pm
can you explain the “farm girl” comment, too? apparently i am just dumb to insults.
August 17th, 2006 at 5:32 am
It wasn’t an insult, gosh. I was just echoing “farm girl” - and commenting on the ratio of blacks to whites or mexicans to whites or whites to indians, or whatever other combination of races one could devise is certainly not racist. Both my white AND black friends from Memphis comment on the term frequently. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there, NEW POST!
August 17th, 2006 at 8:04 am
please go away.
August 17th, 2006 at 6:19 pm
Yeah, I’m pretty sure the term “Memphrica” only refers to black people, not Mexicans and Indians. Though I’m sure you hate Mexicans and Indians just as much as black people. I mean, who am I to judge?
August 31st, 2006 at 2:52 pm
wow. i’m glad “memphrica” was atleast somewhat cleared up for me. cause i had no idea what that meant…
